What actually happened? Some 8000 people packed into the bullring for this annual flamenco gathering of Jerezano artists many of whom seem to be repeated every year...

Various singers underlined that the public did not listen, because the fiesta resembles a "circus".

Here are some comments from artists who attended as part of the public:

Angelita Gomez: "Se puede ir al garete." People do not now listen to the Buleria in its own right. The fiesta de la buleria should be for the buleria, fandango, tangos, and a little alegrias and no more. The public does not want "cante jondo"...The problem is that there is no respect.

Moraito: "Hay que poner sonido potente." He suggested a louder sound system to overcome the noise from the crowd, such as you would get at a rock concert. People bought fish when Terremoto was singing "por seguiriyas."

Parrilla de Jerez: "Cada vez esta peor. El sonido mal." We need more seriousness, not so much food and drink, he said.
