Almost too good to be true!
This could be an interesting renovation and preservation
project. The old machinery of the watermill (for flour production)
has remained partly intact and was last used about 20 years
ago. It is still owned by the family that used to run it,
but the building itself is thought to be over 200 years
old.
In a favourable location with
quality land in a valley, it is not too far from major road
systems, yet far enough away to enjoy just the wind in the
trees, the birdsong of the countryside under a soothing
veneer of running water.
Part of the building is in
ruin, but there is existing living accommodation. The entrance
opens into a salon with chimney and fireplace, old floor
tiles and original beams in ceiling. 1 bedroom downstairs,
2 bedrooms upstairs with beams and "caña"
roof, though the floor undulates.
There is a large rustic kitchen
with thick walls so it remains cool in summer. Also a good
size bathroom.
At present there is a variety
of fruits and vegetables in the mainly wooded gardens...
peaches, paraguayas, apples, plums, mandarins, tomatoes,
cucumbers... the land is probably suitable to supply all
your fruit and veg throughout the year.
You could create stables and
have horses - just set aside some grazing land and let them
drink from the stream.
