The costa de la luz runs down southern Spain's western sea border, from Sanlucar to Tarifa.Prices for houses nearer the sea are higher than inland but still reasonable compared to the excesses of the costa del sol.

The beaches of the costa de la luz are clean and windswept, open to the Atlantic ocean, superb for holidays, and not overcrowded, except in some places in August, when all the Spanish have the month off and flock to the seaside. For those families with sensitive skin, we recommend avoiding the peak period of sun, between 12 noon and 3pm, the ideal time to go and have a long lunch!
