Se presentan los Viernes Flamenco en la terraza de verano del Cine Astoria de Jerez de la Frontera (Calle Francos). Durante cuatro viernes en agosto cada año los espectáculos seguirán la tradición de combinar noveles y veteranos en un programa de flamenco tradicional. Todas las actuaciones empiezan a partir de las diez de la noche y la entrada es de siete euros. |

Noches de Bohemiaexcellent nightime concerts in the castle gardens - the Alcazar de Jerez, organised by the town council On this night (25th August 2005) the Moroccan musicians met the flamencos... The result was not always a fusion, but excellent music anyway.

The group from Tetuan, Orchestra Chekkara, brought traditional music with classic instruments: violin, laud, canun and darbuka.
El Segundo Falcon sang with a cajon player and superb flamenco guitarist Paco Jarana: granainas and fandangos abandolaos, solea apolá and alegrias, as well as those delicious songs from Malaga such as tangos. |

Elu de Jerez is a powerful singer. She styles herself after the famous Jerezana singer La Paquera de Jerez who died recently. As usual Antonio Higuero proves to be one of the best guitarists to accompany singers. |

Soraya Clavijo danced with both strong technique
as well as feminine elegance. An emerging talent....
Some say that feminine"braceo" and hand movements are sacrificed
by the relentless pursuit of fast footwork techniques. Not so with Soraya
Clavijo who treated us to a solid traditional form of female dance but
with a youthful tint.
